Expert in Global Advocacy, Stakeholder Engagement and Issues Management to Lead National Public Affairs Practice; Serve as GM of Washington DC Office

NEW YORK: MWWPR today announced that Amy K. Dacey has joined the firm as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Issues Management and Public Affairs. Dacey will lead the firm’s public affairs practice and will serve as Managing Director of MWW’s Washington, D.C. office.  In addition, Amy will serve as a key member of the firm’s management team, providing integrated campaign strategy and key insights into the intersection of policy, influencer engagement, stakeholder management and issues advocacy. Prior to joining MWWPR, Amy served as CEO of the Democratic National Committee and Executive Director of Emily’s List.

“Whether you are a major corporation or a small non-profit, the environment is increasingly complex, and the rules governing your “license to operate” are changing by the minute. As organizations struggle to engage key stakeholders and make sure their stories are heard, it is becoming increasingly clear that the ability to decisively identify, communicate and act upon your organization’s core values is a key driver of success.  This new reality for many businesses has been Amy’s reality for her entire career,” said Michael W. Kempner, Founder and CEO of MWWPR.  “From working with a major labor organization to navigate the complexity of changes in the healthcare environment, to ensuring strategic alignment of Emily’s List’s business strategy with its values, Amy has been on the forefront of major shifts in policy, regulation and the general business ecosystem.   Her ability to navigate complexity while making issues matter to the influencers and stakeholders that matter will be an extraordinary asset to our clients in every sector and stage of development.”

In addition to her expertise in communications strategy and campaign development, Amy is a noted expert in women’s issues, and will serve as a key advisor to clients of MWWPR’s HerVoice practice, the firm’s specialized service offering which builds executive profiles and reputation for women in leadership.  Amy is particularly skilled in the innovative use of social media to build stakeholder engagement and advocacy.  She is also a noted expert in change management, employee engagement, coalition building and re-branding.

“Amy has been at the forefront of every major trend and policy area that is impacting business today including healthcare, technology, globalization, and diversity and inclusion, to name a few,” Kempner continued.  “Her insights into these key issues individually, and their convergence and collective impact will have tremendous value for our clients and to members of our team.”

Most recently, Amy served as the CEO of the Democratic National Committee, where she helped steer the organization through an especially tumultuous time by expanding the Committee’s diversity initiatives, investing in technology infrastructure and eliminating the Committee’s multimillion dollar debt. She is a well-known and highly sought after resource – both nationally and globally – for her vision, leadership and strategic thinking.  Prior to that she served as the Executive Director of Emily’s list, the nation’s most prominent organization dedicated to the election of women at all levels of government.  Among her many successes, she was responsible for increasing the organization’s membership by 500%.  In addition, Dacey managed the organization’s multimillion dollar election campaign program.

“I’m so excited to be able to join such an impressive team of professionals,” said Dacey. ” I’m looking forward to leveraging my skills and relationships in support of MWWPR’s clients and adding important insights and experience to the outstanding roster of MWWPR’s services.”
