<p><strong>SAN FRANCISCO – May 7, 2013 – </strong>MWW (<a href="http://www.mww.com">www.mww.com</a>), one of the top five global independent public relations firms, announced today that Andrea Margolin has joined the firm’s growing San Francisco office as an account director, the latest addition to the firm’s industry-leading <a href="http://www.mww.com/expertise/filter/11/null/">technology and digital content practice</a>. Margolin comes to MWW from education technology leader Blackboard Inc., where she helped direct content and social media strategy and B2B corporate communications initiatives.</p>
<p>“Andrea is a tremendous talent whose innovative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit will be a great match with the culture at MWW. <p>Margolin joins MWW’s award-winning technology and digital content practice which represent such clients like Samsung Mobile, Verizon, NQ Mobile, Blackhawk Network and Blurb. The team is comprised of technology, social media, digital marketing and media relations experts who deliver true subject matter expertise ranging from consumer electronics and apps to entertainment.</p>
<p>In her previous position as Social Media and Content Strategist at Blackboard, Margolin built the organization’s social media governance and policy from the ground up and spearheaded the company’s social selling initiatives. She worked in a cross-functional capacity to develop and execute corporate communications, integrated marketing and branding initiatives. Prior to joining Blackboard, Margolin worked at Stanton Communications, where she represented telecommunications, non-profit organizations and food &amp; beverage clients, handling their creative marketing and branding campaigns.</p>
<p>Margolin is a graduate of Miami University where she received a bachelor of science degree in Business Marketing as well as a bachelor of arts degree in English-Journalism.</p>

<p>Rigas has served as a trusted senior advisor to Fortune 500 companies, start-ups and entrepreneurs for over 18 years.  She was on the team who launched MINI in North America, built Miami into a world-class destination and helped blockbuster brands including Paul Frank Industries and Thomas the Tank Engine grow awareness and market share.  Her diverse career has included providing strategic public relations counsel to executives at companies including BMW of North America, American Greetings and Gerber Products Company, among many others.</p>
<p>Prior to MWW, she spent six years at DKC Public Relations and Integrated Marketing where she advanced to the level of senior vice president.  Previously, Rigas held management roles at Ruder Finn and Rubenstein Communications.</p>
<p>She holds a bachelor of arts with honors in English Literature from the University of Western Ontario, in London, Ontario and a Certificate in Public Relations from Humber College in Toronto, Ontario.</p>

<p><strong>EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. –</strong> <strong>April 10, 2013 </strong>— It is no secret that the digital and social media revolution has influenced profound and drastic changes on how the general public consumes news information.  To further explore changes in how people are gathering news information, MWW (<a href="http://www.mww.com/">www.mww.com</a>), one of the top five global independent public relations firms, issued today a formal study “<a href="http://www.mww.com/white_paper/get_white_paper/media-by-the-numbers-the-changing-landscape-of-the-news-consumption-cycle">Media by the Numbers: The Changing Landscape of the News Consumption Cycle</a>.” The report focuses on when people consume news, what they consume, on what devices and through what channels they discover the news.</p>
<p>Some of the key findings reported in the research:</p>
<ul>
<li>In terms of news distribution, 44% and 29% of people report following Facebook and Twitter links, respectively, in the morning</li>
<li>In terms of devices consumers use to get their news, smartphones hit 23% in the morning and usage peaks to 43% during lunch</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Roughly 56% of people report receiving their news via email in the mornings but these numbers drop by mid-morning, and only partially rebound later in the day</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>90% of consumers are interested in engaging with brands via news (making it valuable engagement content)</li>
</ul>
<p>“Today, consumers spend the day moving through devices and sources as they consume news 24&#215;7. Now more than ever, brands are challenged to build and maintain relevance in an environment where the information flow is not only constant, but the media and medium through which the information flows is constantly changing,” said Ephraim Cohen, executive vice president of consumer technology and digital content, <a href="http://www.mww.com/">MWW</a>.  “In crafting this study, we set out to help ensure our clients’ news distribution strategies have the highest impact possible by mapping when you should send news, what type of news, to what media, in what format, and how it’s likely to be shared.”</p>
<p>The survey was conducted online in October 2012 among 396 adults ages 18 and older in the United States via Instant.ly on behalf of MWW. The online survey is not based on a probability sample and therefore no estimate of theoretical sampling error can be calculated.</p>
