Last week, the London office was treated to a summer party, a bash of epic proportions. As surprising as it sounds, we were also decidedly lucky with famously mercurial British weather and we took full advantage of the three days of summer that London had to offer.
After having a team-wide meeting in our boardroom, we were treated to an unplugged, private gig by Gabriel Bruce and then whisked off to the city, to enjoy the glorious sunshine and the wonderful views of St Paul’s cathedral from the comforts of Madison cocktail bar. The steadfast of the troop even headed out post-prosecco to soak up the best of London grime from an east London nightclub.
While this seems like a jolly, and in many ways it was, team building days out such as this represent a great way to nurture a solid team ethos and group bond. We’ve had some great new recruits joining the London office in recent months and it was great to see such a strong team become even stronger.
Being part of a larger network can often feel daunting and the fear often is that you’ll become a number on a time sheet and not allowed the space to grow. At MWW it couldn’t be further from the truth. Being part of MWW lets us draw upon our collective strength, while also exercising our agile-thinking and commercial creativity, something which small agencies pride themselves on.
What days like these go a long way to show is that you can keep a team together and motivated on a company’s core objectives through encouraging the sharing or conversations and ideas that exist outside of the normal 9 to 5. There may be some sore heads the next day, but the company will benefit from keeping its staff engaged with its goals and focused on its wider inspirations away from the business as usual.
